Wet Weather Guide
During the week:
If the ‘Closed’ sign is showing do not train on the fields.
The fields have been closed either by the Council or by the Youth club to protect the grounds from damage.
Before training ring the Council Wet Weather line on 9710 0105 and it could save you the time of going out to the fields to find them closed.
If you are caught by the Council training on closed fields the club’s privilege to use the grounds for training could be forfeited for the rest of the year and then we will have a mighty lot of teams pretty upset with the situation. Apart from the fact the club also stands to be fined. Simply do not train when the fields are closed. There are always people from the committee up and around the fields and they will instruct you not to train if the grounds are closed.
During the weekend:
Rule 1 - DO NOT RING BEFORE 7:30AM.
If it is raining or has been do so, the coach or manager (ONLY) should ring after 7:30 am on Saturday and Sunday 9522 4087 where there will be a recorded message advising of the arrangements.
Remember the ground has to be soaked for the games to be called off. Soccer is a winter sport and, yes, you do play in the rain. So if it sprinkling, then pack your umbrellas, it’s most probably on.
Sometimes only some games are called off or relocated. In this case the manager will be contacted directly as soon as we are told. Sometimes this may occur as late as 8am.
ALL MATCHES ARE ON UNLESS YOU ARE TOLD FROM YOUR TEAM MANAGER!
It may soon be possible to simply check the web page to find out if the grounds are open or closed but this has to be discussed further.
